OBIANO'S COMMISSIONER PARNERS WITH JOURNALISTS IN THE STATE

The Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism Anambra state,
Dr (Mrs) Uju Nwogu has called on journalists in the state to work
harmoniously with state government in order to properly inform the
people about activities of the state government.


Barr Nwogu stated this today during a press conference with newsmen at
her office in Awka, saying when the people are well communicated, they
would be abreast with the government thereby accepting the government.

According to her, this would attract investors across the globe into
the state as Governor Willie Obiano has improved security measures in
the state for business to thrive.

She promised to look into the welfare of  journalists and digitization
of the communication industry in the state, adding that Anambra
Broadcasting Service is undergoing restructuring to enhance wider
reception while maintaining international standard.

The Information Commissioner said National Light newspaper should be
producing daily as opposed to once  a week it publishes now.

As for culture and tourism, Dr Nwogu noted that Anambra state has rich
cultural heritage that people should explore while resuscitating the
moribund tourists sites in the state.

She said "the aim of Chief Willie Obiano's administration is to make
the state number one tourist attraction in Nigeria and aimed at
increase in its revenue".

Nwogu said that Some of these tourist centres, include, Ogbunike Cave,
Agulu Lake, Igboukwu Museum, Nri Museum, Rogenny toursit centre, among
others.#
