Umuchu Tragedy: Okeke Visits, Extolls Youths Efforts to Save Victims' Lives
A former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial Aspirant in Anambra State, Chief Ugochukwu Okeke has commiserated with the people of Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area of the state over the recent trailer tragedy that claimed about 12 people and injured 21 in the town .

Okeke, who visited the community yesterday, prayed God to grant the bereaved  families fortitude to bear the irreparable loss since no one can question Him over the ugly incident.
He equally praised the youth of the community on the various developmental projects they have executed through their youthful President General, especially the roles they played in saving the lives of the victims of the trailer tragedy.
As a result, Okeke enjoined other well meaning Nigerians to give youths chance to lead at various capacity because, according to him, massive development ongoing in Umuchu were sequel to youthful leadership.
Recalled that tragedy struck at a village market in Umuchu on Sunday, October 11 following a brake failure of a lorry with registration number Enugu LG66-BBG carrying plywood which collided with some oncoming vehicles, damaged properties, killed 3 masquerades, 12 people, while 21 survived with some degrees of injury.
The victims, mostly the indigenes, had gathered at the market square to watch masquerades after the annual new yam festival held the previous day when the incident happened.
Commending the august visitor for abandoning his business to come to sympatize with them, the President General, Umuchu Improvement Union , Barr Kingsley Onunkwo briefed him on what the town did and would continue to do to improving their lives.
 He appreciated Chief Okeke for showing concern by mourning with the community at a time like this when even there was no political campaigns and prayed God to reward his kind gesture.
In a brief comment,Bar Osita Igbokwe,PDP Chairman Aguata LGA,described Chief Okeke as a rare philantropist and vibrant politician who had assisted the party immensely especially durring the party's state and local governments congresses.
While describing him as one of the pillars of PDP in the state,he thanked him for sparing time to commiserate with the people of Umuchu over the sad development.
Hon Chukwuma Ezeafulukwe,a community leader,said by this gesture,he had demonstrated that life was not all about politics,but also touching lives in time of need and prayed God to continue to bless him in his endeavors.
