The Commissioner of Police Anambra state command Mr Hosea Karma has paraded over 30 suspected criminals including the abductors of the Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Works, Mr Chika Ilozumba, 7 suspected car snatchers and 19 suspected cultists.
Addressing newsmen at the command headquarters in Awka, CP Karma said that the security agencies in the state where determined and committed in ensuring that a safe and secure environment is provided for the people and visitors of the state.
He explained that the kidnappers of the commissioners’ aide fled the country to far away Cotonou in Benin Republic but the command with the aid of diligent officers trailed and eventually arrested them.
He recalled that during the previous festive period celebration the security operatives had worked so hard in ensuring that the state remained relatively peaceful as he assured that with the help of Governor Chief Willie Obiano the coming festive season will be improved on and assured investors and visitors of their safety during their visit to the state for business and other nonbelligerent activities.
CP karma assured school authorities and other relevant bodies of the commands resolve to collaborate with them in ensuring that focused students enjoy conducive atmosphere for studies as he condemned the activities of some miscreants who go about disturbing the peace of institutions, promising that security operatives in the state was all out to curb their criminal activities.
His words “The government is committed in providing a safe environment where by they can sleep with their two eyes closed. I remember during last December the whole country confirm the fact that we had one of the best celebrated xmas and new year. In pursuance of that we are prepared and determined to ensure that 2015 xmas year celebration and other festivity is improved upon in a way that all citizen of the state that have travelled out to other places have a peaceful return home to enjoy with their love ones.”
“We want to call on the entire student bodies that indulge in cultism and other forms of crime to refrain from the act because their parent has not sent them to school to engage in all this criminalities. We also want to call on the school authorities and other student bodies that the security agencies in the state is prepared to join forces with them to ensure that all peace loving student have their way and conducive atmosphere to study.”
Also some indigenes of Obosi community who belonged to different cult groups denounced their membership with the evil fraternity and pledge their total support and commitment to security operatives in the fight against cultism in Obosi kingdom.
While presenting the denouncers to the Commissioner of Police Mr Daniel Igbokwubili the President General of Obosi town thanked him for his effort in restoring peace to the once den of cultist, armed robbers and kidnappers and pledge the communities resolution to partner with security operatives in maintaining the peace.
