2,371 Corps Members Complete Service in Anambra


 A total of 2,371 Batch C Corps members posted in Anambra state in November 2014 have successfully completed their service year.

Twenty three corps members received different awards while ten corps members had disciplinary cases ranging from absenteeism to various contraventions of the NYSC Bye laws.

In a passing out parade held today at Alex Ekwueme Square Awka, Governor Willie Obiano advised the corps members to apply the knowledge acquired during the service year in reforming the society for the benefit of all Nigerians.

Represented by his Deputy Dr Nkem Okeke, Governor Obiano charged them to be good ambassadors of the state and contribute their quota to nation-building.

He commended their patriotism, commitment and diligence to their various places of primary assignment in the state.

Contributing, the Chairman NYSC State Governing Board, Ogbuefi Tony Nnacheta appreciated the contributions of the outgoing corps members in rural development of the state and enjoined them to pursue the lofty ideals of the scheme in all their  endeavour.

Earlier, the State Coordinator of NYSC Mrs Robinca Isioma Odigwe announced that two corps members lost their lives while serving their fatherland in Anambra state.

She thanked Ndi-Anambra for creating the enabling environment that has ensured the sustained existence of the scheme in the state.

Our correspondent Chigozie Umeh reports that the Overall Best Corps member of 2014 Batch C service year was Mr Iyala Joseph Ajoh from Cross River state who did many notable community development services in Art works
