Anambra State Corper Provides Healthcare to Over 5000 Persons In Awka

A corper serving in Anambra State Miss Akpa Sandra Adaugo has embarked on a community health care project that is aimed at providing healthcare services to over 5000 persons in Awka capital city.

In giving back to the society and fulfilling a long time dream, Sandra from Enugu state deemed it fit to impart positively to the society by contributing her quota in reducing the rising rate of deaths caused by citizens' negligence to some health problems  
The healthcare service delivery which is the personal project of the corper was initiated to help reduce the high rate of malaria, cough and as well de-worm the children resident in Awka, between the ages of five and seventeen, it also provides citizenry with multivitamins food supplements and general medical consultation.
Speaking with Christian Outlook at St Partrick Catholic Cathedral Awka , the biochemistry graduate of Enugu State University Of Sciences And Technology (ESUT) decried the nonchalant attitude some parent have towards health related issues and as well noted that the project was not only aimed at giving out free drug but also to educate and counsel the people on the importance of constant medical check up.
"This project is a personal project of mine which concentrates on giving out free drugs for the de-worming of kids, giving them multivitamins, treatment of malaria and cough and also general medical consultation by experts in the medical profession". She explained
She observed that "The people of Awka are negligence of these health situations especially de-worming and they always feel reluctant to go medical check up, they don't know the danger behind it. We are not out to give out only free drugs but also to teach the people of the importance of checking themselves frequently."
