Assistance to Governor Willie Obiano on social media and proprietor of www.ifeadinmensi.com among other several
online enterprises, Rtn Ifeanyi Aniagoh has declared that the youths of Abagana
are now well positioned to take charge of their future.
He stated
this in Abagana, the headquarters of Njikoka local government area during the
maiden edition of the football tournament he organized for the youths of town
tagged “2015 Youth Unity Cup”
The
tournament which was played among members of United Anambra Youth Assembly
(U-AYA) in Abagana community ran for over two months with ten teams selected
from the ten wards in the town participating.
The tournaments
finals was played among Ezi-ube FC and Ofehochi united with the former emerging
the winner after they scored a lone goal against the later.
Speaking
with our correspondent Ifeanyi hinted that the tournament was aimed at
promoting oneness and unity among the youths which is one of the main focus and
vision of Governor Willie Obiano’s led government and equally to provide a
platform for community involvement, participation and development of young
talents.
The founder
of Football Across Anambra State and CEO of Oliswaren Group, Chief Olisa
Aniunoh while congratulating the winners praised the skills displayed by the
players promising to ensure annual and state-wide competition for the young
talents if his desire to lead the Anambra State FA is achieved. Chief Aniunoh
relishing his time as a striker, donated a special cash prize and instant
scholarship for the tournament’s Top Scorer, Arinze Okaeme and doubled the
Prize Money for the 2015 Youth Unity Cup Champions
Also expressing
his views on the importance of the tournament and the need for other well
meaning citizens of Anambra to borrow a leaf from the good gesture of Rtn
Ifeanyi Aniagoh to ensure that Governor Obiano’s resolve to develop grassroot
sports in the state was achieved, Mr Emeka Ozumba, the special assistance to
the governor on media, expressed satisfaction with the initiative and commended
the youths for turning up en masse to participate and support the competition.
On his part,
visibly elated Arinze Okaeme, who won the prize for the highest goal
scorer in an interview with our
correspondent thanked the organizer for
creating the avenue for him to accomplish his heart desire of being a
footballer, and promised to make good use of the opportunity to develop more on
his sporting career and equally impact the lives of other Abagana youth
positively.
