Fr Ebubemuonso of Uke Adoration Ministry has suffered another great lose as personal assistance to the spiritual director
of the ministry Mr Okechukwu
Odenigwe and some members of his family perish in a ghastly motor accident in
Awka, Anambra state.
The family which
was returning back to their base in Onitsha after visiting their country home Urunebo
village in Enugwu Ukwu unfortunately had a truck which had failed brake due to
over speed run into them just after they finished refilling their vehicle in
fuel station.
Officers of he Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) who where on
ground to assist the accident victims confirmed the death of Mr Okechukwu Odenigwe, his wife and an aunty
as they rushed 3 of their kids who where
in critical condition to a nearby hospital.
An eye witness
blamed the Hausa driver who drove the truck recklessly on top speed for the ill-fated
accident as he called on the government to enforce the law forbidding articulated
vehicles from plying roads in Anambra during the day.
He said "It was even a miracle that some people were
brought out out of the vehicle alive,considering the mangled nature of the
vehicle and the speed of the trailer.
"It was clear that the trailer lost break because the
people around were flagging down the driver of the trailer to slow down but he
continued speeding until this happened, the government should try and enforce
the law that banned tanker drivers from driving on the express during the day
if not all this heartless truck drivers will kill everyone in Anambra state one
day.”
