OBI IS PRODIGAL SON,SAYS MRS OBIANO

The wife of Anambra state governor,Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano , has described the recent campaign against the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) and the state government by the immediate past governor of the state ,Peter Obi, as the art of a prodigal son.

She pleaded with the people of the state not to vilify Obi based on his recent actions, saying when the former governor would come back to his senses he would return to his roots(APGA) and that the people of the state should be ready to receive him back as the father of biblical prodigal son did.

She however acknowledged that Anambra state under Obi for eight years witnessed a great  transformation in every facet.
The governor's wife was addressing no fewer than 28,000 women under the auspices of Women of Substance Association at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu park,Amawbia, near Awka, the state capital who converge to pledge their support to the senatorial bid of the national chairman of APGA,Chief Victor Umeh.

She asked the women to embrace the various empowerment programmes lined up by the state government to lift women and youths in the state. She thanked the women for their support for the APGA boss, noting that Umeh had all it would take to give the people of the state and Ndigbo purposeful representation.

She also urged the women to vote in all other APGA candidates in the elections to give the state governor the desired synergy to develop the state.

Addressing the women, Chief Umeh said he was overwhelmed by their solidarity, saying his battle for the senatorial seat had been half won by the support of the 28,000 women.
He pledged that if voted in, the women would not regret supporting him, restating that he was going to the senate to restore the dignity of the Igbo.

Earlier, the organiser of the Women of Substance Association, Ifedibe Ume-Ejidike,had said that their resolve to support Umeh's cause was as a result of their conviction that the APGA boss would give the district effective representation in the senate.
