PDP BANS TONY NWOYE AND 8 OTHERS FOR TWO YEARS


The People Democratic Party (PDP), Anambra state chapter has banned the 2013 governorship candidate of the party, Comrade Tony Nwoye and 8 others from contesting any election on the platform of PDP for two years for engaging in anti-party activities.


The ban came at the completion of a sitting by a panel of disciplinary committee at the party's secretariat at Udoka, Awka Anambra state; the panel mentioned that Nwoye and others who were earlier suspended by the state executive committee were guilty as charged

He explained that after a careful and thorough examination of the submission of ANNC Akonanya, the persecuting counsel and the charge brought before the panel by the executives of the party in the state, the panel found them guilty hence the ban action by the disciplinary committee.

The panel further explained that the offense of Nwoye and his group which varies from engaging in disorderly conducts at meetings, rallies and party functions, engaging in unauthorized publicity of disputes within the party and creating a parallel party organ were covered under section 58 (1) paragraph B of the parties constitution as amended in 2012.    

It added that the offenders should be "debarred from holding any party office from ward to the
national offices of the party for a period of two years as contained in Section 59 (8) paragraph E- of the constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2012)".

Others banned by the disciplinary committee are Osita Ezenwa, Basil Ejidike, Mrs. Jessy Belonwu, Kenneth Arinze, Uche Ogbonna, Tony Akachukwu, Ejike Oguebego and Chuks  Okoye.
