Anambra Govt Set To Vivify Scout Movement In The State.

The Governor of Anambra state Chief Willie Obiano has assured the
members of Scout Association of Nigeria Anambra state chapter of his
commitment to revive and reposition the movement in the state through
the Ministries of Youth, Sports and Education.
The Governor made this claim during the investiture ceremony on him as
the patron of the state council of the Scout Association of Nigeria at
the Government Lodge Amawbia in Anambra state. The investiture was
performed by the Chief Scout of Nigeria, Engr Ahmadu Mohammed.
Performing the investiture, Mohammed said that the ceremony was only
a formality to fulfill the constitution of the Association that the
Governor of each state shall be the Patron of the Council in their
respective states because Governor Obiano has been a member of the
Scout Association right from childhood.
In his address, the President of the State Scout Council and State
Chief Judge, Justice Peter Umeadi, described the investiture on the
Governor as apt, considering his phenomenal successes in the security
of lives and property in the state, he assured that the state council
is committed to exploring every avenue within its means to enhance the
future of young boys and girls in the state through the lofty ideals
of scouting.
The Governor at the event also donated a bus to the State Council of
the Association to assist her in her activities.
The Scout Movement, a voluntary non-political movement for young
people, open to all irrespective of gender, race or creed, offers
youths the opportunity to develop their full physical, social and
spiritual potentials as responsible global citizens and as members of
their respective local, national and international communities.
