His Excellency Chief Dr Willie Obiano has rewarded some selected
members of the Anambra State Civil Service Commission for their
individual efforts towards the growth of the commission.
The Governor while giving out the award to recipients during the
states civil service day celebration at the Jerome udorji secretariat
in Awka, commended the awardees for their assiduous and diligent
services toward the progress of the state which prompted their
colleagues to unanimously nominate them for the prestigious
recognition, he equally exhorted them to continue with the commitment and
diligence to service "because there is always reward for hardwork".
He went on to urge other members of the state civil service to
continue in their support for his administration as he promised to
always pay salaries and other bonus as at when due.
The Head of Service His Honour Chidi Ezeoke earlier in his welcome
address thanked the Governor of the state for his immense support and
concern towards the welfare of public servants in the state.
He also recognized the place of Anambra women and their contributions
towards the growth of the state as they dominated all the sectors of
public service which led to the theme of the 2015 public service day
celebration " The role of the public service in women empowerment"
"I acknowledge with a deep sense of gratitude the special attention
our governor, Comrade Willie Obiano has paid and continued to pay to
the public servants of the state and their welfare" Ezeoke said.
The Head of Service continued "He has shown uncommon understanding and
sensitivity to matters concerning the public servants and the services
in numerous way such as payment of salaries as at when due, regular
training and capacity building of public servants, development of
housing units for public servants among others"
Speaking with www.gozienews.com one of the awardees Miss Igah Adaku
of Ministry of Economic, Planning and Budget who was visibly elated
expressed her gratitude to God for the honour and promised to continue
rendering dynamic and selfless services for the growth of the service.
The event also featured cutting of the anniversary cake by the
Governor and dance presentation by the cultural troops from the
Ministry of Information, Culture and tourism.
