ANAMBRA STATE MOVES TO RESCUE COMMUNITY FROM GOING EXTINCT

With the ecological hazards currently witnessed in some parts of the
state trough erosion and other natural disasters spreading in our
communities and towns the government of the state under the leadership
of Governor Willie Obiano has moved to rescue communities which are
faced with challenges of natural disaster.




One of such communities is Adazi nnukwu which has suffered severe
loses in the past from the ill fit of erosion. The community has long
been threatened by the effect of erosion as a large expanse of her
land has been washed away by the dangerous erosion that terrorizes the
town.

In a bit to curb this ecological hazard the government through the
leadership of Anaocha local government area under the leadership of
Hon Engr Ikeobi Ejiofor visited the erosion site threatening the
community. The local government boss of Anaocha Engr ikeobi Ejiofor
in the company of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) chairman of
Anaocha local government, Hon Barr Ndubisi Obiadi and other government
officials decried the extent to which the erosion had damaged a good
portion of the community landmass and roads

He assured the community of governments' urgent resolve to ease their
plight and as well advice that the members of the community should
remain calm and go about their normal activities peacefully assuring
that governments' intervention was going to swift and timely.

Addressing the executive chairman of Anaocha and other government
personnel present at the erosion site the president general of Adazi
Nnukwu, Engr CY Anetoh commended the local government boss for rising
to the occasion by taking the pains to visit the erosion site.

He assured Engr Ejiofor of the towns' cooperation and support to the
government during the process of rebuilding and construction of
erosion control facilities and roads in the community as he noted that
the erosion had damaged a vast portion of the community farmland,
roads houses and as such rendered farmers in the area hopeless and
homeless.

Engr Cy Anaetoh used the medium to thank the Executive Governor of the
state Chief Willie Obiano whom he said had started the process of
healing and rebuilding Anambra State as he expressed confidence that
the governor will succeed in elevating the state to a place of pride
amongst other states in the nation.
