Uche Ekwunife warns politicians against campaign of bitterness

The member representing Anaocha Njikoka Dunukofia federal constituency, Hon Mrs Uche Ekwunife has advised politicians to remain focus on their campaign strategies and desist from campaign of bitterness,calumny and  use of hate speeches against opponents

Ekwunife who is a candidate of PDP for Anambra Central Senatorial district election. Observed that the rate at which politicians attack each other in their speeches IS alarming and uncalled for.

Mrs Ekwunife who spoke during a courtesy visit on her by union of  bloggers from Anambra state under the aegis of Anambra Bloggers Chapel said that most of the comments by some politicians against their opponents where characterized by bitterness and character assassination.

She however advised that politicians should conduct their campaigns with decorum and without rancor as she also pressed the need for a more focused and issue based campaign amongst politician.

She further explained that she does not need to propagate a hate campaign against anyone to win the senatorial seat of Anambra central zone because the people of the state are much more politically aware and cannot be deceived.


“People are politically wise now, they know what they want and can not be deceived through hate campaigns against opponents. My advice is that politicians should go and sell their manifesto to the people.

“What is destined is already destined. the people know who they want and hate campaigns cannot stop that. This time, people are voting beyond political parties, and I believe that the people know me and what I can do and they will vote wisely.” She said  

To the bloggers Hon Mrs Uche Ekwunife appreciated their efforts to revolutionize  the  conventional media, and urged them to verify their facts before publishing at all times to retain a high credibility.

“Do not make yourselves the enemies of my opponents because you feel you want to support me, and don’t also make me your enemy by reporting falsehood because you want to support my opponent. Let your report be factual and balanced all the time.” she said.

www.gozienews.blogspot.com reports that in their separate remarks earlier , the Acting Coordinator of the Anambra Bloggers Chapel (ABC), and Secretary ,Mr Bamidele Ajayi and Mr Chigozie Umeh respectively informed Ekwunife that the new organization was formed in order to harmonize and checkmate the activities of online journalists in being a
brother’s keeper and reduce abuse of the cyber space.

They assured her of a level playing ground in publicizing her
activities in the state and beyond.
