Revealed: Jonathan, PDP Plots To Install Military, Arrest Jega
It has been gathered that Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are indeed planning to truncate Nigeria's democracy by foisting a military government on the Nation should Saturday election not go in their favour.
This is meant to be a last minute resort should a suit seeking the disqualification of General Muhammadu Buhari from the polls not pull through today.
The President and his gang of PDP members are banking on the court to disqualify Buhari today in order for Jonathan to have a smooth sail to victory.
The judgement which was initially billed for yesterday was rescheduled to hold today.
The APC had yesterday raised the alarm that President Jonathan has procured judgement to disqualify
Buhari.
Should that fail, Jonathan and the PDP will be left with no choice but to resort to a military takeover.
A very senior officer with deep concern about the future of Nigeria who confided revealed that the President, NSA and the Service Chiefs have concluded arrangements for military to take over government in case early election results indicate PDP's failure.
The president has already paid some groups to come out en mass and demonstrate against the INEC Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega while other groups are paid to cause electoral confusion in some states.
The military will use these as excuse to justify the takeover.
The general said the military will dissolve all political parties and ban the contestants from taking part in politics.
In case of much pressure on the junta, they have already secured interim president and vice president from North and South West respectively, he added. The coup is likely to be staged when Jonathan is already in his village for election.
Prof Attahiru Jega is likely to be arrested and the junta will promise free and fair elections and an end to Boko Haram insurgency, the source confirmed.
Yesterday, former president Olusegun Obasanjo has warned the Jonathan led admin against plots to hand over to the military, saying such will undermine Nigeria's integrity.
The former President who spoke while welcoming Mrs. Aisha Buhari, wife of the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari said."
“Nigeria has all it takes to dictate pace for other countries in Africa adding that Nigerians should blame themselves for where it is today,” he said.
The ex-President who is now renowned for busting his protégée, President Jonathan, had warned that, "The international community will not condone it, particularly AU where we have a situation.
“We have said and it is part and parcel of the constituting act of AU, any government that is brought about not on the basis of the constitution will not be accepted, will not be tolerated and will not be a member of the AU until that government is dismantled."
