Earthquake In Anambra As Over 7000 APGA Members Decamp To PDP. (Photos)
Over 7000 members of All Progressive Gland Alliance (APGA) in Anambra
state have defected to the People Democratic Party(PDP)
The Apga members who defected from the seven Local Government Area
that make up Anambra central zone to the PDP was received by the
National chairman of the party who was represented by the zonal women
leader Mrs Antonia Nwankwo.
While addressing the new members the National chairman said that the people democratic party
would carry them along in its programmes, adding that they would never
regret leaving APGA as the party has nothing to offer them and the entire people of Anambra state.
Also speaking at the event a former commissioner and director general,
Willie Obiano campaign organisation, Chief Joe Martin Uzodike said
APGA as a political party died when Late Chukwuemeka Ojukwu died.
He described APGA as a one man party, where one man occupies all its
executive positions.
Chief Uzodike commended the new members of PDP for their courage and
determination to stand for justice and urged the people of Anambra to
vote PDP in the forthcoming election.
"I am very happy you all now realize and denounce membership of Apga
by shifting your loyalty to PDP. I assure you that your coming is an
indication and testimony to the great things the party has done at the
federal level.
''I know that you have made the right decision by rejecting a party
that is not Democratic and led by a greedy National chairman who calls
the shot at all level of the party.
''I urge the good people of Anambra to reject greedy politicians in its
totality and come out en masse and vote PDP during the election" chief
Uzodike said.
Also speaking, the PDP candidate for Anambra central senatorial zone
Mrs Iyom Uche Ekwunife while giving out PDP materials and welcoming
the new party members said the gathering was the strongest movement in
the state which was going to effect the transformation the people had
been glamouring for.
She assured the decampees of fairness,equity and effective representation as she urged them to endeavour to vote for the PDP in all positions during the forthcoming general elections.
